MANITOBA PC LEADER HUGH MCFADYEN TRAVELS THE PROVINCE THIS SUMMER TO HEAR FROM MANITOBANS: McFADYEN

PC Leader Hugh McFadyen marks the halfway point of his summer tour with a visit to the community of Dauphin to attend the Ukrainian Festival Dinner and deliver greetings.

“It is so important to get out of the Legislature and talk to Manitobans about issues most important to them,” said McFadyen, who will also be visiting Grandview and McCreary this weekend. “My colleagues and I have been travelling throughout the province this summer and meeting with people face-to-face in their own communities.”

On Monday, McFadyen will spend the day in Gimli and serve pancakes before attending the Icelandic festival. He recently attended the Morris Stampede, travelled to Arborg and Flin Flon, and spent time door-knocking in the Winnipeg ridings of Kirkfield Park, St. Norbert, and River Heights.

“As I travel throughout our great province and meet families from all walks of life, I am reminded of the diversity, work ethic and pride that make Manitoba an amazing place to live and work,” he said. “I am also reminded of our need for a long-term economic strategy to grow our way into prosperity, to restore frontline services in healthcare, and reduce wasteful spending.”

“Hard-working Manitobans need a reason to be optimistic about our future, and after 11 years the tired NDP is failing them,” McFadyen added.

Last week McFadyen toured flood-swamped areas of Manitoba.

 “I saw first hand the devastation caused by flooding on our farmlands,” said McFadyen. “Producers need immediate relief and instead they’re being penalized with deductibles and unworkable deadlines from this NDP government.” 

In August, McFadyen will be attending several Folklorama pavilions in Winnipeg.
